Development Reports
AS 4970-2009

We collaborate with you and your design team through every planning stage to ensure success. Our arborist reports are crafted to meet Council requirements and align with Australian Standards 4970-2009, making them the perfect tool for navigating Victoria's planning regulations.
Our goal isn't just to help you get your application approved - it's to deliver a final product your whole neighbourhood will appreciate.

Tree Safety Audits
Commercial OH&S
In Victoria, tree managers, employers, and property owners are bound by the OH&S Act 2004 to keep their trees in check. This means reducing risks where reasonably practicable - and we've got the perfect solution.
Our Tree Safety Audit (TSA) systems are built on two internally recognised and legally sound risk assessment methods, helping you maintain a safe environment and meet your duty of care.
General Arborist Reports
Health, Overlays & Permits
Worried about your tree's health and safety? Our arborists can get to the root of the issue. After assessing tree health and risk factors, we'll provide verbal or written advice on the best management strategies moving forward.
If roots are the problem, our expertise in town planning laws and overlays allows us to provide evidence-based reports to support tree removal or pruning permits with your local Council.

3 levels of tree assessment and arborist reports
Level 1: Limited Visual Assessment
Our Arborists complete brief visual assessments to identify trees posing high or extreme risks. These assessments are designed to efficiently cover large areas while capturing minimal details for each tree. They also offer a budget-friendly option for individual trees. Additionally, Level 1 assessments can help pinpoint specific areas or trees that may require more comprehensive Level 2 or Level 3 audits.
Level 2: Standard Assessment
Our Arborists conduct a thorough inspection of a tree by walking around it and checking for defects in all visible areas, as well as the surrounding environment. This process includes using "sounding" techniques and probes to assess any signs of internal decay and open cavities, respectively. During an audit, the Arborist can identify whether any structural or health issues warrant a more in-depth evaluation through a Level 3 Advanced Assessment. The findings are documented in a risk assessment and mitigation report, detailing noted defects, observations, and recommendations.
Level 3: Advanced Assessments
Our Arborists examine the roots, stem, and crown of a tree through various advanced methods and technologies, such as aerial inspections, resistance drilling, or sonic tomography. The findings are compiled into a report document that details all field observations, photographs, testing results, and recommendations.
QTRA & TRAQ
Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) identifies targets and calculates the probability of tree failure x the severity of consequences, giving a clear numeric risk level.
Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) assessment, more holistic in its assessment of a tree's condition and hazard factors. It calculates the likelihood of tree failure x consequences including targets, providing a qualitative high, moderate, or low-risk category.
Site Analysis: We assess factors like proximity to structures, utility lines, and high-traffic areas to evaluate potential risks if the tree were to fail.
Visual Inspection: Our arborists closely examine health, structure, and signs of decay or damage, such as deadwood, cracks, and leaning.
Likelihood Assessment: We evaluate the probability of failure based on tree and environmental factors.
Consequence Evaluation: Assessing potential impacts on people, property, and the environment, including injuries, structural damage, and utility disruptions.
Risk Categorisation: Combining likelihood and consequence assessments to prioritise trees for management actions based on risk severity.
Risk Management: Recommendations can include pruning, support systems, maintenance adjustments, or removal if risks are too high.
Ongoing Monitoring: Regular assessments as part of a comprehensive tree management program ensure continuous safety and risk reduction.
Both functions identify and reduce risk, keeping you and your trees safe. Here's how it is done:
